Where Are The Fathers?

Where Are Fathers

• Did you know that Approximately 82.2% of single parents are mothers, and
• 17.8% of single parents (approximately 1 in 6) are fathers

There was an article in the paper asking what’s important to people in America? A group of concerned Americans responded by saying something like this: If you wanted to make the world a better place–how could you do it?

  • When they asked businessmen, they said we need more strong politicians & businessman in society. True!
    • When they asked a preacher, he said we need more church members for outreach. True!
    • When they asked a principal, he said we need more good teachers in the classroom. True!
    • But when they asked a child, they said we need more fathers. Let us pause and pray for the increase of fathers!

Prov 13:20 He that walk with wise men shall be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Come a board Dad, let’s show America there are a fleet of great dads taking care of their children and helping other parents with theirs.
Quote: What you learn for yourself is a lesson! But teaching children the right way is a generational blessing!

child

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Psalm 127:3-5 Sons and daughters are a heritage from the Lord, children are a reward from him.

Joshua 24:15 But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Best dads in America, let’s all rise to the occasion! It’s worth it!

  1. I cannot imagine growing up without a Dad… even though my Father was strict, I loved him to bits…. Its so sad that so many walk away from their responsibilities… Families need both parents… or at least a father figure in their life..

    Many thanks for sharing..
    Blessings

  3. God in Trinity manifestation is also a single parent to 7.5 billion Children. Unconditional love which is Love expecting nothing in return, is the only pattern. My earlier comment about inside and outside of the church walls had nothing to do with God who transcends the wall of the church. Disciples of Christ have only one pattern. If you can communicate unconditional love regardless of the choice your children make you have modeled truth to them. Remember forgiveness is key. At 55 all I do is repent for the last 54 years. Remember we do not judge a man by his children but his grandchildren. Love you brother keep posting.

    1. Sorry for the late reply. I bet you were a great single parent. As you were, I remember being a single parent experiencing good as well as bad times. I’m so proud to help my children make it through obstacles and peer pressures. That I’ve decided to help other parents with theirs. Thank again my friend!

      1. By God’s grace alone! I think often of how God called Abraham and chose him because He was seeking “godly offspring”. This has been my passion, but I also know it is only God Who can open their eyes. Keep encouraging others! God is pleased!

  4. An excellent post! I have noticed this “single mom parent” trend too, as have many others. It speaks to a sad demographic of fathers who do not wish to have anything to do with the families they help to create.

Imagine how these irresponsible fathers, (children whom He created), would feel if the Lord didn’t what anything to do with them!

    1. Sorry for the late post my friend! Its tough knowing about fathers who don’t do their earthly duty, that is raising their children. Whether alone as I did or with a loving spouse that is just as loving and caring. Lets keep those fathers in prayer who don’t know the way or trying to find their way. Meanwhile, lets be the change we desire to see in other people. God bless and thanks again!

  5. I love this blog. I have one suggestion. Since Fatherhood is your area of expertise, can you find some examples (non-church) of good fathers? We must appeal to men outside of the walls. They are not coming back. It is time for new role models, ideas and patterns. God, Jesus and Holy Spirit are the only patterns but the old church patterns of men is dead, and there is a difference. Protestantism like Catholicism is dead. We need some thinking outside of the box.

I see and hear your thoughts. Leaving the orthodoxy will be scary, but think of the lives that will be saved. Blessing my Brother in Christ.

    1. Sorry for the late reply my brother. This is a good point! You know I raised my children as a single parent and discovered while raising them that the Godly patterns for a new way of expressing fatherhood to a fatherless generation starts with me. I aim to get this message out by being an example and continuing to conduct speaking engagements and single parenting coach along with counseling I perform throughout the week. Keep praying and depending on God to get the word out through concerned men like you and other great men out there who serve God. Again, thanks!
